I have traveled to Kyoto a few time to experience the gardens of Japan, but I will say this garden in Lower Merion, from what I have seen, is unmatched for a personal private residence. Some of the early 20th century modern architects drew upon the concepts of the indoor/outdoor connection of traditional Japanese homes, similar to what is achieved in this home built in the 1960's.
